die European Pro-Life Doctors und die katholische Ärztevereinigung BKÄ begrüßen die 'Dubliner Erklärung" zum Schutz von Frauen bei extrem schwieriger Schwangerschaft mit schwerer Bedrohung des mütterlichen Lebens.

Nach dem Todesfall der schwangeren Savita Halappanavar in der Universitätsfrauenklinik von Galway (Irland) wegen verzögerter - leider notwendiger - Abtreibung ist solch eine ärztlicher Erklärung und Aufklärung dringend nötig geworden.

Denn es soll jetzt die restriktive Gesetzeslage in Irland aufgeweicht werden, so daß dann das Leben der Ungeborenen noch mehr bedroht ist.

The situation regarding legalised abortion in Ireland is extremely critical and could happen within the next two weeks. 

Recently the Dublin Declaration, a document stating abortion is not medically necessary to save the life of a mother, was drafted by the Committee. 

We are currently reaching out to doctors around the world and asking for them to support this crucial document.

I am writing because I require your immediate support for the Dublin Declaration, a hugely significant document, which states abortion is not medically necessary to save the life of a mother. 

This Declaration, created by the Committee for Excellence in Maternal Healthcare, is hugely significant, for the global pro-life movement but especially for Ireland at this critical time.

The recent and tragic death of pregnant Savita Halappanavar in Galway University Hospital saddens maternal healthcare practitioners around the country.

Unfortunately, a media frenzy has led to a growing belief that abortion is medically necessary and must be legalised in Ireland.

The Dublin Declaration is a document of truth for Ireland during a very confusing time but we are in need of worldwide support.

It is necessary that doctors from around the world unite in the belief that abortion is not medically necessary to save the life of a mother.

I ask for you to take a moment and help Ireland during this critical time.

As Christian prolife-doctors from Germany and other European countries we support with all our heart this necessary medical initiative for the protection of life of pregnant women, but also of all unborn babies.

All medical fellows, exspecially the gynaecologists in the hospitals, have to be well informed, encouraged, protected and supportetd in the right manner.

And our young medical students and their teachers all over the world have to be integrated into the spirit of the new Dublin Declaration for life.
